In 1989, southern Sofia gained a new cultural landmark – the Krasno Selo Cultural Centre. The impressive building, situated in the heart of the picturesque Hippodrome Park, covers an area of 1,000 square metres across two floors and comprises dozens of rooms. The cultural centre has the status of a municipal cultural institution and hosts a wide variety of events for young and old alike.

Its halls boast excellent acoustics and are flooded with natural light, making them ideal for art and photography exhibitions, talks, concerts, theatre performances and other performing arts events. Some of the spacious rooms are adorned with exquisite wood carvings, which are in themselves displays of masterful craftsmanship. Many local residents also know the cultural centre as the ‘Ritual Hall’, as Hall No. 2 serves this function as well. The area surrounding the building is also eye-catching, with pleasant greenery and sculptures dotted throughout the park.
