A wonderful way to spend time in the great outdoors whilst enjoying the incredible views this spot has to offer. There are several routes you can take, but whichever one you choose, you can’t go wrong.

Your first option is to take the footpath and cycle lane from the shore of Pancharevo Lake to the village of Kokalyane. You set off along the long tarmac path, keeping the lake on your right. The path is 4 km long and circles the lake and its entire shore. Halfway along the route, you will reach the Grandstands – built during the socialist era for a world rowing championship held on the lake. Many competitions used to be held there, but now you can use them to rest during your walk and enjoy the wonderful view of the lake. Some of Sofia’s most beautiful sunsets can also be seen from there.

For those who prefer more mountainous routes, the path through the Lozen Mountains is a wonderful option. Starting your route once again from the Pancharevo wall, turn left onto the mountain trail. You’ll have the chance to stroll through the wooded parts of the Lozen Mountains, and along the way there are several rest spots from which you can enjoy the view. Your final destination is the panoramic viewpoint, revealing the full beauty of Pancharevo and the surrounding area. There is a bench where you can rest after the walk, and the photos taken there are truly spectacular.
