“Manastirska Mageritsa” – an old historic house and now a centre for Bulgarian traditions and good taste.
This magical building once belonged to Bulgaria’s first literary critic following the country’s liberation – Professor Krastyo Krastov. More than a century ago, the professor would hold discussions here with the greats Pencho Slaveykov, Peio Yavorov, Petko Todorov and Todor Vlaykov.
Together with these like-minded Bulgarian writers, Professor Krastov founded the first literary club and the magazine *Misul*. Gathering around the table beneath the cornel tree in our courtyard, which has been preserved to this day, the work of these legendary writers has left a significant mark on Bulgarian history.
The restaurant offers traditional Bulgarian cuisine. Every recipe on our menu has been collected from various monasteries across Bulgaria. Dishes to suit every occasion, season and taste. An inspiring atmosphere, featuring ethnic elements. A spacious courtyard for leisurely lunches. The restaurant also has a private function room.
