Probably the most active gallery in the city, where you can always find at least one exhibition showcasing contemporary Bulgarian art. The City Gallery boasts a collection of over eight thousand works and focuses on several key areas: painting, sculpture, graphic art, contemporary art and photography. The history of the Sofia City Art Gallery dates back to 1928, and over the years the gallery has gradually become one of the most important cultural venues in Sofia. Some of the sculptures in its collection are on display outdoors in the City Garden.
