We present to you the continuation of South Park – just a short walk away and you’ll find yourself in the so-called ‘Dog Park’, which is actually a huge and beautiful park. With a name like that, you can guess for yourself that the place is a favourite with owners of four-legged friends. When the weather is fine, one of the favourite pastimes is watching man’s best friend having fun. Many of the park’s visitors also spend time playing games – shuttlecock, frisbee and many others – or simply set up a hammock, a picnic blanket or a festive spread beneath the dappled shade of the trees. 

As well as being a huge dog park, the park also hosts concerts and events such as the A to Z Jazz Festival. It usually takes place in early July, so if you’re in Sofia at that time, you simply must experience the magical atmosphere created by jazz music. And for sports fans, and football fans in particular, we have some great news! The park has a fan zone that pops up during major football tournaments. Keep an eye out for them, because the general atmosphere is incredibly energising and captivating. 

For lovers of contemporary art, we have two recommendations, both located in the same park. The first spot is Toplo Centralna – the perfect place to meet new people, explore the visual arts, including theatre productions, photography, thought-provoking paintings, as well as musical performances and academic seminars. We guarantee a new experience and unforgettable memories, especially if you head up to the beautiful terrace bar. Our second suggestion is the Sofia Arsenal, better known as the Museum of Contemporary Art – don’t forget to check the events on their website, as they’re always worth a visit. 

The last place we recommend you visit is the Earth and People Museum. There you will find real treasures – over 20,000 exhibits of minerals, crystals, gemstones and mineral resources found on Earth are on display. Be sure to pop into the museum shop to buy a stone corresponding to your star sign for positive energy and a positive mindset.
