Sofia Puppet Theatre
Initially founded with the actress Mara Penkova’s personal funds in 1949, the first Bulgarian puppet theatre attracted such significant public attention that 2 years later, the troupe received the status of a professional state puppet theatre.
Each year children can choose from over 30 shows here. There are also entertaining and thought-provoking shows for adults such as the Broadway musical “Avenue Q” by Jeff Whitty.
